Portfolio migration tools (PMT)


Fast changes in today's business induce increased demand for transferring portfolio data among various systems. Portfolio migration is very important part of any new software deployment and must be performed with high accuracy and safety. The key requirement for any portfolio migration is to ensure data consistency during the transfer among systems. 


BSS has developed tools for safe and efficient portfolio data migration among various financial IT systems. We can assure that all the data will be captured, converted and transferred from any source data system to the destination data system without any distortions or violations. PMT structure is shown below:

Step 1 - data transfer from any data source to intermediate format (relational databases) based on checklists;

Step 2 - transferring data from intermediate format to a destination database using PMT.

BSS experience in this field has been gained by migrating more than 10 large financial portfolios. It is important to emphasize that all the data sources had a unique data format operated on number of different database management systems including Microsoft Sql Server, Oracle, SqlBase, IBM DB2. Original software was running on different platforms including MS DOS, MS Windows, AS400, DEC/MICRO-VAX4000 and several others. It means that tools developed by BSS are universal and can be easily adapted for any type of migration.
